RJ Says - Need a Supercross TIcket?

I wanted to explain, a little "tongue-in-cheek", what I go thru regarding event tickets. Specifically what I went thru regarding the recent San Diego Supercross. Hope you get a laugh out of my video blog below. If you'd like to see the results, points, photos and video from the 2012 Monster Energy San Diego Supercross - here's the link!

BRAND NEW issue of Moto Magazine hits the shops October 2

If you’ve been into motocross for long enough, there comes a time when you start to ogle bikes you couldn’t afford or were too young to ride. Then you get the urge to buy one, restore and perhaps even race it. And as many will testify, it’s addictive. One oldie is never enough.

Women's AMA Motocross National Championship numbers for 2011 season

Beginning last season, MX Sports Pro Racing implemented a new numbering system for the Women's AMA National Motocross championship. In years past, riders selected their numbers based on availability and order of selection was determined by where a rider finished in the standings the previous season. While the champion was designated to wear the number one plate, all other competitors were permitted to select any number that was available.

The 2010 campaign marked the debut of a new numbering system that determines a rider's number by where she finished the previous season. As a result, one's finishing position in the championship would serve as her number for the following season.

While Women's MX Champion Jessica Patterson will enter 2011 with the #1 plate on her bike, jersey and helmet, below is a list of the remaining numbers for next season's MotorcycleUSA Women's Motocross Championship in accordance to each woman's position in the final standings for 2010:

RJ Says - Speed or Consistency?

After the Anaheim II Supercross, it’s looking like a four man race for the coveted title of 2012 AMA Supercross Series Champion.

With everybody still healthy and strong, this is shaping up to be one of the most competitive years in Supercross ever. Most seasons in the past the title has come down to one or two guys - but right now there is a major the contrast in the consistency of Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey versus the brutal speed of Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart.

One of the great things about a worn down track is the help from ruts and berms.  Sure they can make things difficult, but they essentially help us keep our speed up in the corners.  Just like in NASCAR, the angled surface allows the bike to lean over and still find plenty of traction.  However, [...]

2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series Preview: Freestone

Last weekend, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships kicked off the 2012 series at Hangtown near Sacramento, CA and the racing delivered in a big way. James Stewart made his triumphant return to outdoor racing, winning both of the 450 Class motos in his debut ride aboard the factory Yoshimura/Suzuki RM-Z450. In the 250 Class, the action was virtually non-stop, as Blake Baggett, Ken Roczen, and Justin Barcia vied for every inch of racetrack, with Baggett taking the win in both motos for the overall.

The Warrior Jeffrey Herlings, probably too tough for his own good

Incredibly brave or just plain stupid, that pretty much sums up the printable comments we have seen around the internet today, regarding Jeffrey Herlings attempt to retain his MX2 world championship in Mexico.

Herlings: "For me it was like I was riding with just one leg. Every time I put my foot down or went over a bump the pain was terrible. In the first moto I was a little calmer and I thought it was already over but in the second moto I was just fighting like a warrior. Obviously I came up short but that's life and I'll try to get the title back next year."
